Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is proud to honor Taron Moon, Regional Teen Coordinator for our Greater Newark and New Castle Clubs, as the 2024 Joseph H. Dulin Staff of the Year! Taron exemplifies dedication, leadership, and innovation, constantly bringing fresh program ideas and leading by example in his role.
Affectionately known as “Mr. Kool-Aid” by the teens at his Clubs, Taron has built strong relationships with members who look up to him as a mentor and role model. He plays a key role in implementing both new and existing programs, including “Chat and Chew”, where girls gather to cook a meal together while discussing important topics such as mental health, self-esteem, dating, and everyday challenges. Recognizing when a teen could benefit from extra guidance, Taron also provides one-on-one mentoring to help members build confidence and essential life skills.
As a former Club kid himself, Taron understands firsthand the impact a mentor can have on a young person’s life. “I enjoy working with the kids, especially the teens. Everyone is a family, and I really enjoy that,” he shares. His journey with Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware has come full circle—from eagerly stepping into his first leadership role as a teen counselor to now inspiring and empowering the next generation.
We are incredibly grateful for Taron’s dedication to our mission and his unwavering commitment to our teens. This award is a well-deserved recognition of his hard work, and we know he will continue to inspire greatness in our youth for years to come! Congratulations, Taron!
