MEET TAIR R. THE GREATER MILFORD BOYS & GIRLS CLUB YOUTH OF THE YEAR

Tair R. has been a Club member at Greater Milford Boys & Girls Club since 2015 . He is a senior and graduates in May 2019. Tair plans on attending Delaware State University in the fall to study Hospitality Management.

“Statistics show that black teens are 10 times more likely to die from gun violence than white teens. Whether the cause is homicide, law enforcement, or accidental, they are still dying. Unfortunately, I witnessed this epidemic way too close to home. My older brother fell victim to this statistic. Although life hit me hard, I strongly refused to fall victim to being another statistic. Then, there was the Greater Milford Boys & Girls Club. This Club changed my life. They helped me realize my real potential, and through that, I have become a leader in many ways.”
