Gregg Bacchieri honored at Greater Newark Boys & Girls Club

(Newark, DE. – October 25, 2022) — Gregg Bacchieri, longtime supporter of the Greater Newark Boys & Girls Club, was honored on Saturday as the basketball court and teen center were renamed to honor his legacy. The Greg Bacchieri Court and Bacchieri Family Teen Center will serve as a fitting way to honor an individual whose passion was to provide hope and opportunity for young people throughout Delaware. Gregg had a special affinity for the Greater Newark Boys & Girls Club and served two terms as Chair of the Newark board. He also served as a statewide board member for 28 years. Sadly, Gregg passed away in 2019 and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware hopes to establish a fund that will allow the great work that he began, to continue.

“Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is forever grateful for the support and leadership provided by Gregg Bacchieri and his family. Gregg was an engaged Board Member for over 25 years, bringing his business acumen and mentorship skills to bear throughout the organization. Gregg encouraged others around him to engage with the Club, multiplying his impact many times over through these resources. We are honored to name the Greater Newark Boys & Girls Club basketball court in his name and the Club’s teen center after the Bacchieri family” says John Wellons, Preseident & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware.
