Brandon Rogers, a member and employee of the Clarence Fraim Boys & Girls Club, has been named the 2025 George Krupanski Jr. Delaware Youth of the Year. A program in its 78th year, Youth of the Year honors our nation’s most awe-inspiring young people on their path to great futures and encourages all kids to lead, succeed and inspire. This event was made possible by the generous support of our sponsors and supporters, who are dedicated to advancing our mission and ensuring the well-being of our youth.
A student at Thomas McKean High School, Brandon has been a proud Boys & Girls Club member for the past four years. During that time, he’s taken part in a variety of programs, including leading the impactful Shoot Hoops, Not Guns initiative—a basketball league that brought Clubs together while raising awareness through powerful stories, including that of a mother affected by gun violence. Brandon credits the Club with providing him a safe place to go and just be a kid.
“I am so honored to be the 2025 Youth of the Year. There’s never been anywhere that was a home for me like the Club. Everyone at the Club has had such an impact, they’ve really helped me spread my wings and blossom into the flower I am” says Brandon.
Brandon also served as a Youth of the Year finalist in 2023, and was thankful for the opportunity to participate in the program once again, this time mentored by the 2022 Youth of the Year, Orlando Rider. “The bond we’ve built is unbreakable, and no matter what happens, I know I can always count on him as family. Our relationship has been a blessing in every step of my journey” Brandon says of his mentor.
“His personality and drive make people around him want to be as great as he is” says Orlando.
As the 2025 Delaware Youth of the Year, Brandon will go on to compete for the title of Northeast Regional Youth of the Year in June and an additional $20,000 in college scholarship. Five regional winners will advance to Washington, D.C. later this year to compete for the title of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Youth of the Year. The National Youth of the Year will receive an additional scholarship of $50,000 and will have the opportunity to meet with the President of the United States in the Oval Office.
“We are incredibly proud of Brandon” says John Wellons, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware. “His positive impact and energy embody the very best of our youth, and we can't wait to cheer him on at the regional Youth of the Year competition.”
