Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware Youth of the Year Finalists Recognized at Legislative Hall

Our Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware Youth of the Year Finalists recently had the honor of taking a trip to Legislative Hall where they were recognized on both the House and Senate floors. This special event was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and achievements of these remarkable young individuals, and it provided them with an unforgettable experience of civic engagement and recognition.

The day began with a warm welcome in Delaware Governor John Carney’s office, where he took the time to personally congratulate each finalist. The Governor's words of encouragement boosted their confidence and also reinforced the value of their hard work and dedication. Our members then had the unique opportunity to connect with their area representatives, discussing the issues that matter most to them and sharing their Youth of the Year experiences.

The finalists then received a formal recognition on both the House and Senate floors. This dual recognition underscored the importance of youth development and the impact that our programs have on the lives of young people in Delaware. The trip to Legislative Hall was more than just an opportunity for recognition; it was a powerful reminder of the importance of youth voices in shaping the future. Our Youth of the Year finalists left Legislative Hall inspired and motivated, ready to continue their journey of leadership and service.
