(Laurel, DE. – June 24, 2024) - The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware's Laurel Club celebrated an exciting "Draft Day" send-off for Kyree M., one the organization’s outstanding members, as he embarks on a unique and enriching journey with NBA Math Hoops. The program is designed to leverage the game of basketball and the NBA/WNBA brands to build fundamental math and social-emotional skills through a physical and digital basketball-themed board game, curriculum, and community program experience. This opportunity is made possible by Learn Fresh, an organization dedicated to providing transformative educational experiences for youth.
Kyree was selected for the program as a result of his academics, letter of reference, love of basketball, and video submission explaining how the program has helped him learn and grow. As part of the Draft Day Celebration, the Laurel Boys & Girls Club held a signing ceremony where Kyree signed a commitment with the NBA Math Hoops organization. During the nearly week long program, Kyree will have the opportunity to explore the Liberty Science Center, discover New York City and tour the NBA office headquarters.
"We are incredibly proud of Kyree, and thrilled for him to have this amazing opportunity," said Kevin Bivens, Childcare Director at the Laurel Boys & Girls Club. "This program is invaluable, and we are grateful for their commitment to empowering our youth."
