"Foundation
for the Future"
Capital Campaign
$15 million - 1st Phase
$5 million - 2nd Phase
As our state continues to grow, the need for services to youth continues to rise. By investing in our youth now, we can help them become productive, caring citizens in the future. The challenge:
how can we maintain and enhance the present quality of services for 15,000 members and reach out to an additional 15,000 Delaware youths in need?
In order to provide quality and life-changing programs to 30,000 youth annually by 2005, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware's Board of Directors and Staff - in consultation with community leaders and financial specialists - recently launched a Capital Campaign, "Foundation for the Future."

Proven Results
The results of our efforts are clear. Studies have shown that kids who belong to our clubs have better school performance, lower rates of juvenile crime, and they are more likely to complete high school and college. Consider these statistics:
-
Seaford police reported a 62% decrease in juvenile crime after the Western Sussex Club opened.
-
A study by the University of Delaware showed a 26% decrease in criminal incidents at Brookmont Farms following the opening of the Greater Newark Club.
-
50% of youth participating in the tutoring program at the Manchester Square Extension no longer needed to attend summer school.
-
60% of participants in our educational enhancement programs have increased at least one letter grade in each subject tutored.
-
A survey of Brookmont Farms residents revealed that an overwhelming 93% felt that the club has had a positive impact on their community.
-
87% of club kids finish high school as compared to 66% nationwide.
-
Club kids have a 56% higher college graduation rate than the national average.
-
Former club members have household incomes 39% above the national average.
